With the following procedure, recall a specific time when you were extremely happy to the point that you could not stop laughing. Please decide which incident you want to visualise before starting the exercise.

  1. Sit or lie down comfortably in a quiet place. Close your eyes and breathe slowly. Take at least three seconds to breathe in and at least six seconds to breathe out for every breath. Focus on your breathing and your lower abdomen when you breathe until you feel calm and peaceful inside your heart and mind.
  2. Remember that specific time when you were extremely happy to the point that you could not stop laughing. Concentrate on it to prevent other incidents from coming to mind.
  3. As you access that memory, go right into the scene and into your body, so that you can see what you saw, hear what you heard, and really feel the feelings of being extremely happy to the point that you could not stop laughing.
  4. Take three deep breaths when you are at the peak of the experience, feeling extremely happy to the point that you could not stop laughing, so that you can memorise the feeling wholeheartedly with your body and mind.
  5. Open your eyes and come back to reality at your own speed.
